I agree, there is no standard code for time zones. For instance, I have
seen U.S. East coast standard time and some Australian time both be
labeled as "EST" since the rules of daylight savings time are so
arbitrary and subject to change it would be foolish to use coded time
zones. Instead stick to UTC+/-offset.
