These are my notes from the COAS presentation to the CORBAmed group.

Clinical Decision Support -
If COAS can support CDS applications then it will be ok.  Things COAS
needs to support are performance requirements for real-time decision
support, XML referencing for external referencing then access the
Observation directly, non-clinical information and represent
observations quantitatively and qualitatively with an associated value
for measure of certainty.

COAS needs to work with HRAC submitters and use their frameworks.

COAS needs to work with Roadmap, i.e.  COAS modelers give it to Roadmap.
 This may help define the scope.  NHS Modelers for the COAS domain will
be in Helsinki.

Wayne mentioned needing extensive use cases.  Need to figure out how to
support simple to complex scenario and not require all CORBA services,
i.e. Trader,  to use COAS.  Think about Trader versus Record Locator
Service.

Yasser is concerned about the scope of access.

Etienne wants to use the term 'clinical item' rather than Observation.

Someone mentioned coming up with an Observation framework that other
specialized observations could use or inherit from.

Group wants the submitters to consider extendibility of the framework.

Group would like submitters to think about other RFPs that can be issued
in conjunction with or separate from COAS.
